Our story began with a mutual love for nature and desire to find another to embark on outdoor adventures with and experience the beauty of the Pacific Northwest together. Very soon after meeting we spent nearly all our free time together, hiking, exploring waterfalls, snowboarding, anything as long as were with one another. It quickly became apparent that this was developing into being something really special. We fell in love and became inseparable, and the rest is history.

While on a springtime trip to the Hawaiian island of Maui, Shay knew this was the right time and a special place to pop the question. He felt the perfect moment was during a hike the couple were on at an elevation of 10,000 feet on the island’s highest peak; Mt. Haleakala. On a rocky point overlooking Ka Lu’u o ka’O’’o Crater where the couple had stopped to take a water break and take some pictures Shay got down on one knee and proposed. Although it came as a complete surprise to her, Louise happily accepted without hesitation.
