It is with a heavy heart and several empty boxes of Kleenex (Danny was obviously the only one crying #babycry) that we write this email -- we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Park City wedding celebration -- in a COVID hot-spot, with 200+ people, "elbow-to-elbow" socializing, packed dance parties and lots of dirty fingers in buffets. HUGE bummer. Danny and I have known that we were in this relationship for the long haul from pretty early on in our relationship (even though Danny told me marriage wouldn’t be on the table for 10 years and constantly made comments like “no ski, no ring”). And, we talked about what our dream wedding would look like before he ever dropped to one knee -- the mountains, great music, and most importantly, all of you. We are heartbroken to not have the big wedding we dreamed of (and planned) where the Lopez + Loughridge + Mackenzie + Fleck families & friends, the most important people in our lives, rally together in a big mass (of mostly Lopez’s) to celebrate our union. Though we are canceling our Sept 12th celebration, we still hope to exchange vows and sign marriage licenses this fall with our parents, siblings and small bridal party. And hopefully, within the next few years, we will have a giant fiesta or a few parties around the country -- Kentucky, LA, New York, Santa Fe & Denver, Oh My! -- (yes, I plan to wear my dress at each one) so we can celebrate with you! Also, you all know how much we love a good party. So for now we will dream about what would have been and invite you to spend a moment doing the same. Dream about little Clayton Mast (Loughridge) as our “flower bearer” chasing a truck down the aisle, Grandma Luci in her cheetah print, endless electric-slides, the potty mouth on the woman (Helen!) who introduced my parents, an interpretive dance-toast from Danny’s TWO best men, a golf-scramble battle and most likely, a choreographed Loughridge-sister Beyonce dance. It really would have been SO much fun!
