Marc and Abby met in the summer of 2021 thanks to the help of some of their closest friends (shoutout to the Van Der Peets!). Abby was celebrating her 24th birthday with friends when Marc came across a photo of her on Instagram posted by his former fraternity brother. He reached out to Jacob to ask if she was single and Jacob and Ivyanne immediately began scheming to set them up. Their first conversation was over Instagram dm when Marc noticed that they happened to be in the same place at the same time... wine tasting in Chelan. As Abby sat at Karma Vineyards (ironically their future wedding venue) with her mom and sister she also noticed that Marc was in the area and briefly thought "I bet if I post something that guy will dm me." Spoiler alert, he did! They exchanged a few messages and left it there, knowing they'd probably meet some time in the near future. Ivyanne and Jacob finally set them up on a double date on July 9, 2021, where the four of them went wine tasting. Funny enough, they ran into Marc's mom on the first date! After wine tasting, the four of them continued the night with boating. Marc was clearly smitten because around midnight he asked the group, "So, what are you guys doing after this?" to which everyone replied "Going to bed?"... If you know Marc, you know that is probably the one and only time in his life that he suggested to keep the night going. Marc and Abby had their first one-on-one date a week later. They made pasta from scratch and watched Marc's favorite movie, Midnight in Paris. They've been inseparable ever since! After only 2 weeks of knowing each other, Marc invited Abby on a trip to Hawaii with some of his best friends. In hindsight, a little crazy, but it clearly worked out! Since then, they have enjoyed several Hawaii trips, holidays with both families, football games, weekends in Chelan, wine tasting trips with friends, and cuddles with their dog, Griffey. Abby moved in with Marc in January of 2023 and in October of 2023 they took the trip of a lifetime to France! It was there that Marc got down on one knee in the beautiful town of Gordes, Provence and asked Abby to marry him. The best day of their lives continued when the friends who introduced them surprised Abby by flying halfway across the world to be there. Marc and Abby couldn't be more excited for this next chapter of their life as husband and wife! They are so excited to celebrate their love in a place that is so special to them with all of the people who mean the most! Cheer to the soon-to-be Lotorto's!
