The Proposal

The Spark Notes Version

Zola caps my story telling abilities at 2000 spaces, so the usual tangents and details that accompany my story telling will not be included, making this story much more succinct. Honestly, it’s probably a good thing because I tend to ramble and who has time for that?! Not you. Jordan suggested taking a flight out to visit me during my birthday weekend, as I had recently moved to Florida for work. I eagerly agreed, and made the necessary arrangements for work. He arrived bright and early Saturday and despite a bumpy start (I am perpetually lost and late to everything) the day spent with him wandering around Florida, beaching, and eating way too much was wonderful. In the back of my head I wondered if he would take the time to propose this trip, but nobody had hinted anything to me, so I figured it wouldn't happen. That thought process was cemented the next morning when Jordan woke up with his eyes swollen shut and in considerable pain. The morning and afternoon disappeared as I tried to get him in to see someone to make sure he wasn’t going to go blind. Luckily it ended well and we got him the care and medicine her needed. In the evening, after napping the excitement away, I suggested taking a walk along the lake. It was getting dark from an incoming storm and the wind had picked up making it as good a time as any to get out and stretch our legs. We made it to a clearing, and while we sat chatting, dipping our feet in the water (and then pulling them out cause you know, gators) Jordan started talking about how much he loved me and how much he loved doing little things like this with me. Then sweet (practically blind) Jordan asked me to marry him. Pretty sure I blacked out because I have zero recollection of my reaction. Only that I said yes at some point and kissed him so hard we almost fell over. It was the best surprise and flawlessly executed by Jordan, who by this time has discovered that keeping secrets from me is next to impossible ha.
