The Proposal (by Eddie) ~ La Propuesta (por Eddie)

January 2015 ~ Enero del 2015

“Leading up to the proposal I spent countless hours searching for the right ring. And if you know Gaby, she LOVES to be included in things. So, I had to do my research while Gaby was away at work or running errands. Since my research wasn't going anywhere, eventually, I decided to go to the store to see the rings in person. The hardest part was trying to find the right time for me to sneak out for a couple of hours. So what I did was wait after Gaby's four nights in a row of work, I knew she was exhausted and she would not wake up for many hours. That day I made one of the most important purchases of my life that would change my life forever. After a few months of trying to choose a date to propose, I made the decision to do it on my birthday so that she would not expect it. On November 17, 2020 we went for a hike and I got down on one knee.”

The Proposal (by Gaby) ~ La Propuesta (por Gaby)

January 2015 ~ Enero del 2015

“I thought it was odd Eddie wanted to go on a hike at 0500 on his birthday. I thought to myself perhaps it is the year 27 really sinking in and he wants to feel young and energetic. I had a feeling he wouldn't wake up so I agreed. I was wrong, here we go on a hike on the morning of his birthday, and if you have ever been potato chip rock hike is not an easy trail. It was windy and dry, Eddie and Victor got ahead with Max, left me behind. I could no longer see them halfway through the hike. I thought to myself I AM SO DONE. I was wheezing and coughing (DURING COVID TIMES) and did not have my inhaler. I had made up my mind to turn back and wait at the car but then something inside of me wanted to prove to them I was athletically capable of making it to the top. After struggles I made it, Eddie asks me to jump on the potato chip rock for a photo, I said no. It was too dangerous, I was not tall enough to reach with my legs, and I was scared. He and Victor kept insisting, I kept saying no. I gave in after seeing them almost upset I wouldn't go. I crawl up the rock. Eddie asks me to stand, I say I am scared, Eddie insists, I do it. He holds me for a photograph, then I thought he was kneeling to get off the rock but he stays on one knee, pulls out a ring and pops the question! I said yes to my person!! ❤️”
