We met the old-fashioned way, on Bumble. The rest we'll have to break down... She says: Tom and I met online, and I wasn't sure if we would have much in common, but I was excited to go on a date with a doctor! Tom wasn't at all what I had imagined; he was funny and silly and incredibly kind. I could tell he was really happy to be spending time with me, and I felt the same way. We both left town for a week after our first date, but we texted every day, sending each other songs to listen to and exchanging photos of our travels. When we got back, we were able to get to know each other better, exploring each other's cities, riding bikes, and meeting each others' friends. Tom told me he loved me one afternoon after we had spent the day biking and laughing over happy hour with friends. I knew he loved me before he said so, and I was already so in love with him as well. At the end of the summer, after my graduation, we went to England together to spend time with Tom's family. One evening when we were sitting on Tom's dad's boat, Tom slipped something shiny into my drink and asked me to marry him. I'm thrilled that I get to spend my life with this amazing man. He Says: I fell in love with Lorrie from the first moment I saw her. I had relegated true love, soulmates, etc to Netflix and the silver screen, thinking that while it may happen for a lucky few I was going to have to settle for the next best thing. Then I drove to Boulder one Wednesday night and my life changed. Once our first date was over she never left my mind. A simple text from her became the greatest part of any day. The truth is I would have married her on Thursday. I thought I had wasted so much time going on endless dates that led to nowhere, but once I met Lorrie it became crystal clear; all those attempts at mediocrity made the real thing shine brighter than I ever could have imagined. And so now I’m the lucky one.
