On a random Tuesday in December of 2022, Ty picked up a shift at the W hotel in Boston not knowing that it would change his life forever. The shift started like any normal night, slow and steady, hanging out and chatting with guests and coworkers, making the occasional drink. As the night got a little busier, in walked 3 women. Ty noticed one of them immediately, she stood out, it was almost as if a spotlight was shining on her. Trying to be nonchalant, Ty nudged the other bartender and said “you see this one?”, and carried on working. After about 20 minutes one of the girls called Ty over with a “hey!” And a wag of her finger. She said “do you have a girlfriend?” A curious question. “No I don’t” said Ty. “Well my friend thinks your cute” said the friend. With his back slightly turned toward Lorrayne, as he leaned in for the conversation, Ty said “oh i think she’s cute too!” just loud enough for Lorrayne to hear. Or atleast that’s Ty’s version of the story, when Lorrayne tells it, she’s convinced that he screamed it at the top of his lungs for the entire lobby bar to hear. I guess we’ll never know. A brief introduction and a flirty conversation ensues, Lorrayne tells Ty about how she’s in town on a travel nursing assignment from Miami. Ty probably mumbled some nonsense, he doesn’t remember, he was infatuated, couldn’t take his eyes off of her. After a few minutes Lorrayne’s starts to get up to leave. “You’re leaving?! You’re not even going to take my phone number?” Says Ty. Lorrayne accepts as Ty nervously scribbles his phone number on a piece of receipt paper and they say their goodbyes. The next 15 minutes felt like an eternity, nervous that she wouldn’t be able to read it or that she’d never text, then comes the message “Hey! It’s lorrayne save my number” That was almost 3 years ago, they went on their first date that Friday night, they’ve been inseparable ever since. They both still love telling that story, and look forward to celebrating their love with all of you
