Lorissa and Heath met at good old church camp, which is about a week long. Lorissa thinks that she noticed Heath first but he says he disagrees. At camps people would always play this game called signs, long story short you have to pass something secretively around a circle without getting caught. Heath and Lorissa would always pass it back and forth to each other just so each of them would notice one another. This happened within the first three days. After that they couldn't find each other. The last day rolled around and they finally found each other. But they were sad because it was their last day and everyone was packing up to leave. Before everyone left Heath came up to Lorissa and said that he had lost a bet and had to ask for her number. Obviously she didn't hesitate to give it to him. A couple months went by communicating with one another (Keep in mind heath lived in Eugene and Lorissa lived in Bend.) They both thought no way would long distance ever work. Soon they found out Heaths grandparent’s lived 40 minutes away from Bend and Heath would be there for the holidays. They met up for a bowling date and hung out a couple times and that was when they realized that they actually liked each other and started dating soon after that on January 1 st of 2015.
After five years of being together, Heath finally asked Lorissa to marry him. At a beautiful lake on the border of Idaho and Oregon, Heath and Lorissa's families spent a week together fishing and camping. It was the perfect time to get down on one knee. After lots of thinking, Heath and his sister Janieve came up with the perfect plan to get that ring on Lorissa's finger. He packed a nice dinner and drinks and took Lorissa for a nice evening fishing trip. They both had two different visions of how the night would go. They caught lots of fish and had a perfect date out on the water. At around 7:10, Heath knew what was about to happen. He blind folded Lorissa and told her that her mom had a special someone there to surprise her. She no joke bought it. They came around the corner and pulled into the cove that had been decorated by Janieve Heaths sister. The plan was coming together perfectly. Heath got into position in front of twinkle lights that said "Marry me?"and took the blindfold off of Lorissa. It was time to get down on one knee. Lorissa cried and said yes. It was the best day of both of their lives. They all headed up for a beautiful celebration with family. After crying and hugging, both families realized that this fun will last forever.
