Our story is a long one, and it all started a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Well, if the galaxy is Asheville, NC then this statement is true! Their story starts with Nathan and Lori attending the same church in high school and chatting about random things after mass on Sundays. Nathan somehow acquired Lori's phone number and asked her to get ice cream February 15th, 2019. Long story short, Lori friend zoned Nathan after that and allegedly broke Nathan's heart. What kept Lori and Nathan in touch over the next six years was their shared September 17th birthday where one of them would always remember to text the other happy birthday. On September 17, 2024 Lori wished Nathan a happy birthday over text and they caught up a bit. Nathan was devastated that Lori had moved to Charleston, as he thought he would never see his high school crush again since he was still in Boone, NC finishing his industrial design degree. Between September and December of that year, Lori's mother, Karen, started a 54 day novena for Lori to find her spouse. December 16th, Nathan asked Lori if she would like to have coffee when she came back to Asheville over Christmas. Lori was very confused and asked her siblings to join her in getting drinks with Nathan on new years day so that it wouldn't be too awkward. When Lori saw Nathan again after a few years of being away at school, her jaw dropped. There was a full man in front of her with a beard!! She was expecting the same boy who bought her ice cream six years ago! She suddenly regretted bringing her siblings along. after just an hour visit, everyone departed and Lori and Nathan were both left wanting to chat more. The next day Lori prayed that Nathan would ask her to coffee again or even better, dinner! Just a few hours later, Nathan asked Lori if she would like to join him for dinner. After about a month of spending hours talking over facetime, Lori went to Boone to see Nathan and go on their first official, official date- skiing! Nathan taught Lori to ski and a few days later asked her to be his girlfriend. Lori and Nathan dated long distance until Nathan found a job in Charleston after graduating. A year after dating, Nathan proposed to Lori February 15th, 2026, exactly seven years after their ice cream "date". (This, funnily enough, was not planned by Nathan). They are so excited to be married and have you all join them in this wonderful celebration of holy matrimony.
