Places To Eat

Perhaps the most important page on this website! For those of you who don't know - we drove to dinner at "Street" in Portsmouth on one of our first dates and have kept coming back ever since. All of the spots below are tried and true but there are plenty of amazing places in Portsmouth that we haven't made it to yet. We can't wait to hear your favorites! We would recommend making a reservation ahead of time for dinner Friday night as Portsmouth can be busy on summer nights

Cure (Dinner)

189 State Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801
, 603-427-8258

We came here the night we got engaged. Great food and atmosphere if you are looking for a more upscale dinner. You'll need to make a reservation ahead of time!

Surf (Dinner)

99 Bow Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801
, 603-334-9855

Wonderful seafood spot with views of the river. They take reservations over the phone for parties of 6 or more, beyond that it is first come first serve. Our recommendations: Chourico Mussels, Sushi (any of the rolls!), and the Roast Atlantic Haddock

Moxy (Dinner)

106 Penhallow Street, Portsmouth, MA 03801
, 603-319-8178

Serving American style tapas - one of our favorites! A reservation is usually required but you can often find a few seats at the bar. Our recommendations: Fried Pickle Chips, Duck Lentil Fritters, the New England Dinner, and the Johnny Cakes.

Massimo's (Dinner)

59 Penhallow Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801
, 603-436-4000

Great Italian restaurant with both indoor and outdoor dining. They take reservations but generally don't fill up. Don't let that fool you though - they have delicious food! Our recommendations: Meatballs, Burrata, Ravioli and the Bolognese.

Street (Dinner or Lunch)

801 Islington Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801
, 603-436-0860

Our favorite spot and where we went on one of our first dates! A five minute drive from downtown but it is worth it. They don't take reservations but we have never had to wait for too long. Our recommendations: Cemita (stick with the classic chicken thigh), Thai Ribs, Dumplings Con Pow, and the Bibimbap

The Wilder (Dinner/Brunch/Drinks)

174 Fleet Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801
, 603-319-6878

The Wilder feels like a dive bar, but they have amazing cocktails. They also have a full brunch and dinner menu.

Lexie's Joint (Lunch or Dinner)

212 Islington Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801

Amazing burgers, fries and milkshakes. The perfect spot to cure a hangover.

Elephantine Bakery (Breakfast)

10 Commercial Alley, Portsmouth, NH 03801
, (603)319-6189

Get the chocolate pistachio croissant and thank us later :)

The Green Room (Breakfast and Lunch)

41 Vaughan Mall, Portsmouth, NH 03801
, 603-404-7336

Sit down or grab and go, with some great healthy options. We love their acai bowl!

Anabelle's (Ice Cream)

49 Ceres Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801
, 603-436-3400

Our favorite ice cream spot. Lorin's pick: Mocha Mud Pie. Dennis' favorite: Cashew Caramel Cluster

Thirsty Moose (Drinks)

21 Congress Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801
, 603-427-8645

With over 110 beers on tap this is a great casual drinks spot. Their pizza is pretty good also!

Rooftop at The Envio (Drinks)

299 Vaughan Street, Portsmouth, MA 03801
, 603-334-4207

Fun rooftop bar with great views! This is located in the AC Marriott where the ceremony and reception will be held.

The Goat (Drinks and Brunch)

142 Congress Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801

A fun country bar with decent food. Right across the street from welcome drinks if you are looking for a spot afterwards!

For all the days along the way
