Elk Grove is central to wine country! There is world renowned Napa to the West and Amador County to the East for a more laid back tasting experience. Too far to drive? There are 10+ wineries in or around Elk Grove.
If eating and shopping is more your vibe, downtown Sacramento has a busy dining and nightlife scene. It is also home to many historical sites such as the State Capitol, the historic Stanford Mansion, and Sutter's Fort State Park (where the gold rush began!)

Old Sacramento is the riverfront historic district, with Gold Rush-era buildings, cobblestone streets, and horse-drawn carriages. It’s home to numerous museums, including the Sacramento History Museum and the state Railroad Museum.
Folsom is probably best known for it's State Prison thanks to Johnny Cash. The Folsom Museum is located near the entrance of Folsom Prison contains an abundance of documents and artifacts from throughout Folsom’s long and colorful history. Prison's not your thing? There is the Folsom Dam, the historic Powerhouse/State Park and the Historic Sutter Street has old town charm with restaurants, shops, events and entertainment.
