Unlike undergraduate classes, you don’t get to choose anything for your first year in law school. Instead, everything is slated for you: class time, professors, and classmates. At Boston University, you could be placed in one of three sections of about 100 students each, which broke down further into smaller classes of about 20 students each for hands-on learning. We had every single class together—all year long. And that’s where our story began. You need allies in law school. People who will text you while you’re on a cold call to help you with the professor’s questions. People to gossip with about how it’s going for other sections. And people you can study with for untold hours in the library, of course. A study group turned into friendship; a friendship into romance. From ice skating and sledding in the Boston Commons to museum dates and eating cereal on the kitchen floor, we slowly but surely kindled our love. We had a great many adventures that first year, but many more would soon follow. We graduated law school (but not before our spring break turned into quarantining for months in Orlando because of COVID). We moved in together and began a tradition of eating Italian food in Boston’s North End every Friday. We adopted two beautiful gremlins named Juno and Jupiter. We threw many a house party, took a long overdue three-week vacation in Italy and Malta, attended the symphony and the ballet, watched broadway musicals at the Opera House, hung out in Wally’s Jazz Club, cheered on Boston’s Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins, and went to many performances around the city, including Ed Sheeran, Michael Bublé, AJR, and John Mulaney (if you pause and squint, you can see us on Netflix, since one of his performances was filmed in Boston). In short, we did everything Boston had to offer, together. We didn’t know it on that first day of class, but the love we’ve been kindling every day for the last eight years would eventually lead us to the most important day of our lives: our wedding. We are incredibly excited to share our love with everyone on our special day and finally tie the knot. We can’t wait to see you all there!
