We are Getting Married!

Once upon a swipe (or maybe it was fate), two hearts collided—hers full of charm, his full of dad jokes—and the rest is a beautiful, slightly chaotic love story. After countless laughs, adventures, and long debates over what to watch on Netflix, we're finally making it official! We're tying the knot, and you're invited to witness the magic, the mischief, and the questionable dance moves. Grab a drink, explore the site, and get all the details for the big day. We can't wait to celebrate with you—there will be love, laughter, and yes… lots of cake. With love, Lori & Derek

How It All Went Down (and Somehow Worked Out)

April 7, 2024

We don’t exactly know how or why, but from the moment we connected on social media, it felt like we had always been a part of each other’s lives. It was one of those things where time and space didn’t matter—neither of us could explain the connection, but we couldn’t ignore it either. There was something undeniably magnetic between us. I often joke that he’s my kryptonite, because no matter how hard I try, I can never stay away. The moment everything shifted from casual to something more…well, we don’t even know when it happened. But somewhere along the way, we stopped being two people from different worlds and became a team, inseparable in a way that felt both new and familiar. One of the most unforgettable weekends we shared was in Oklahoma City, where we took a long weekend trip together. It was a time to just relax and let things unfold, and it was there that I realized I had found someone who was truly special. Then came the moment that changed everything: in his mom’s backyard, surrounded by the love of our family. He asked me to spend forever with him, with my daughter and his mom there to witness it. The proposal wasn’t just a question, it was a promise, one that had already been made in our hearts long before that moment. It meant the world to me that he’d spoken to my parents first—making sure they knew just how much he loved me. And so here we are, on the edge of our forever, ready to say “I do” and start this next chapter of our story.
