Brian and I are both musicians. We met when the headliner band, “Bucksworth” cancelled their booking at a popular venue located in Riverside, California. Their lead singer, Mark Nemetz called up Brian to ask if Brian’s band, “The Last Americans” could fill in for them. I was also scheduled to perform on the bill, along with another musician, Chris Leroy from the Dangers. We all met up that evening as fellow musicians, playing the same bill. We all stayed in touch on Facebook. And 10 years later, I was on Facebook and saw that Brian had some pictures with his daughter, Katie who was cheering for the "Believe" Walk which took place in Redlands. We starting chatting and eventually went out for our first date at "Las Fuentes." We had many of the same acquaintances being musicians. We had lots to talk about!
Brian and I are a match made in Heaven! We are so compatible not only in music, but also in our faith in God, our devotion to family, our love for animals and the outdoors. We were going outside to feed our horse, “Carmela.” It was after dark, so I had put on a headlamp. It got very dark out on the ranchito. Brian took me aside and got down on bended knee. He pulled out a box from his jacket pocket. Then he asked, “Will you marry me?” I said, “You’re asking here, now? In the dark?” He said, “Yes! I couldn't wait any longer!” I looked down at the ring box and opened it up. I shone the headlamp on the brilliant diamond solitaire! I felt like a miner who struck it rich! It was not because of the diamond engagement ring though. It was because I realized how rich I was in love. And the rest is history.
