Taylor worked at the coffee shop that Matt frequented... funny enough his stops through the stand started to become more and more frequent as time went on. Little did Matt know, he was Taylor's customer crush. One day, Matt stopped for his white mocha and asked Taylor if she'd attend a concert with him and have since then probably spent a total of one week apart from each other.

Matt and Taylor went to Oahu in 2019 for their first vacation together. During that trip, he convinced Taylor to jump off a rock 20 feet above the water at Waimea Bay Beach (Taylor is terrified of heights). When they returned to Oahu for their baby moon in May of 2022, they returned to Waimea Bay Beach 3 years to the day. Matt spent the whole trip trying to convince Taylor to jump off the rock again (Taylor was 20 weeks pregnant), and probably could have used a different approach but hey, it's Matt. Finally he gave up and they decided to take a dip in the ocean, where Matt asked Taylor to take the plunge into spending forever with him since she took the plunge into the water from the rock with him three years prior.
