How We Met

1.22.16

Our story begins January 22, 2016 as we were brought together through a University engagement program. (Sabrina was technically Lorenzo’s boss for this) During our full year of involvement we spent countless days and nights together where we developed a special bond. It only took a few months for us to learn we’re actually best friends! We were inseparable, having wine nights, cooking meals together, even late night beach trips (and I’m talking 3/4am). Most of all we bonded over our countless Disneyland trips! See in Beans eyes, Lorenzo was this amazing person but she never thought of him of anything more than her best friend. Little did she know there were deeper feelings Lorenzo developed over time. Then one random movie night at Sabrina’s college apartment, Lorenzo made a move that didn’t quite sit well with Bean at first, and instead of it being a smooth move, Bean asks “what are you doing?” So our first affectionate moment together actually became a full on 3+ hour conversation about our future and intentions. It was an odd time for love to blossom but through thick and thin we stuck together and in the end our relationship flourished.

The Proposal

12.18.21

Truly a night out of a storybook, the snow was light and fluffy and the air was brisk and cold. Mammoth never looked more beautiful, it was late and as we arrived into town and the streets were canvased in Christmas lights. As we pulled up to Tammerock Lodge I couldn't believe we were staying in such a charming cabin. As we woke on the second day we strapped on our ski gear for a fun filled day on the mountain. Little did Lorenzo plan for me to actually be sick on this day and abruptly cut our ski day in half. I cant tell you all how much I love this man for his empathy and understanding cause what can I say I am not fun to be around when I am under the weather. But nothing was going to ruin this day, we packed up our gear, ran back to the cabin, quickly changed, and headed Mammoth Tavern for a late lunch/early dinner. We got hot toddy's, grabbed a burger, and enjoyed remising memory lane with one another. I always wondered why Lorenzo continued to check his phone at dinner but I realized it was all because he was making sure his evening plans were going as projected. Now at this time I thought we were going to be heading back to the ski resort to see the annual Mammoth Christmas light show but Lorenzo wanted to make sure we grabbed our coats from the cabin before we went. As we walk up to the cabin I notice that the lights inside were turned off - instead of using our key to open the door it was opened. In this moment I was confused, I opened the door and there were rose pedals on the floor the grand cobblestone fireplace was full of string lights, candles, photos, and at the very center a letter with my name on it. Lorenzo signals for me to read it, I am so caught in the moment that I cant process the words that I am reading so I start the letter over again. By the time I start the first sentence Lorenzo is down on one knee. My heart is full, tears stream down both of our faces as we embrace each other for what feels like an eternity and in that moment I had gained my life partner.
