Loren: We met at a high tea party with church friends and couldn't take our eyes off one another! I was quiet and timid, she was bold and curious. Hours of texting and a few days later, Osdale asked me what my intentions were. Fortunately, we were both interested and the rest is history! I popped the question on June 5th, 2021 at Monarch Lake near Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Osdale: Our 1st interaction was through a group chat to set up carpooling for the high tea party in Hillsboro. I texted on the chat: "Loren, I don't think we've met yet, but hi!" - Shortly after this, a friend had informed me that Loren is a guy. I had no clue that Loren was a guy's name, I was just being my friendly self. Oops! Oh well, he thought it was friendly too. ;-) 10/26/19: At high tea, I was pretty intrigued at Loren's upbringing: missionary kid born in Guatemala, visited many countries in Central America as a result, & teaching in Taipei for 3 years. The next day, I saw him again at the Clackamas mall for a scavenger hunt with the youth group. At the end of it, Loren asked if I wanted to hang out with him & a few folks at Planet Granite. I didn't give him a definitive answer then. That night, he and I started texting back and forth...pretty consistently for about 4 days. By this time, I was suspicious that he was interested for sure ! So I asked him outright what his intentions were. He & I both confessed our mutual affection for each other. YAY ! The Lord has blessed us in this relationship, through the pandemic, long distance relationship while I was travel nursing & away for work. It's indeed by His grace & strength that we're both where we are now.

Loren's parents & I had planned a trip to visit the Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park in Colorado for a few days. Loren couldn't make it due to work (or so he said). Little did I know, Loren & his parents had planned to surprise me on that trip! After a day of hiking, we were at a gas station to fill up. Loren had called & he sent me a picture that contained information of a flight coming from Portland to Denver on that same day, arriving later that night. I was very confused and this whole time, both of his parents were recording my reaction to this. I looked at both of them and realized he was coming !!! While we (Loren's parents, Loren & I) were all hiking at the Monarch Lake Trail, we took a short break. He pulled me aside, popped the question and I said "YES!" =D
