Travel Note
There are no direct flights from Phoenix, AZ to Durango, Mexico. Below are flight routes that we recommend and have used in the past. Please note that the airport code for Durango, Mexico is DGO.
Flight
This option is a flight directly from Tijuana, Mexico into Durango, Mexico. This airport is directly on the San Diego and Tijuana border in California. You may park on the US side of the border, enter the airport, and cross through Mexican Customs on foot without ever leaving the airport. Super convenient! The airline we have used is called Volaris. This ticket includes the border crossing fee but does not include a parking pass. You must purchase a parking pass separately if you plan to park at the airport on the US side.
Flight
The flight from Phoenix, AZ to Durango, Mexico always includes a layover in between. Please make sure you are traveling to DGO and not DRO (which is Durango, Colorado aka not Mexico!) American Airlines will take you into Dallas first then into Durango Mexico. AeroMexico will take you into Mexico City first, then into Durango Mexico. Please plan the layover accordingly as both airports are very large and it takes time to move between terminals. Note you will also cross through Mexican Customs once you land in Mexico.
Hotel
Where we are staying! This hotel is in the heart of the City and is within a short walk to many restaurants and shops in the area. Also nearby is the main Plaza de Armas.
Hotel
Alternative option, around the corner from Hotel Casablanca and is directly on the walkway Calle Constitucion which has many shops and restaurants. Tends to be a bit more pricey due to its location and proximity to the Plaza De Armas.
