Question

Are there any surrounding events before or after the Wedding? Are there any surrounding events before or after the Wedding?

Answer

Yes! While we are still in the planning stages, we anticipate a few extra (completely optional) events that all our guests are welcome to attend. This will include: Thursday: A Welcome Happy-Hour! Drop your bags and drop in to see us at Barefoot Grill at Paradise Point Resort. Saturday: Afternoon Afterparty, a laid-back gathering outdoors (either at Vacation Isle park West or outside the Bridal Bungalow at the bayside bonfire pits).

Question

What transportation is being provided? What transportation is being provided?

Answer

We are happy to provide transportation from the ceremony location on Vacation Island to the reception at the Adams Avenue Theater. As a gift to you, this transportation includes a short tour of San Diego! Please RSVP 'Yes' to the transportation if you plan to ride with us to the reception. As our guests will want to leave at different times (it's ok, not everyone shuts down the party!) there will not be group transportation returning to the hotel. Uber, Lyft, and Taxi's are always available and the ride will take approximately 15 minutes.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception? Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

The ceremony location has free parking lots. The reception location is surrounded by neighborhoods with free street parking. If you are concerned about the distance or availability of street parking, we recommend taking our group transportation from the ceremony location to the reception location, and making use of transport companies like Uber or Lyft when returning to your home or car after the event.

Question

Are gifts expected?Are gifts expected?

Answer

Your presence is the best present we could wish for! We understand many of our friends and family are traveling a very long way for our special day, so please don't let the expectation of a gift stop you from coming. There will be an opportunity for you to give small cash gifts at the ceremony if you desire (we're doing the $ dance, bring a few dollars for a one-on-one dance with Bride and/or Groom!), and we will be filling out a general registry here on our website.

Question

Do I need to stay at the room block?Do I need to stay at the room block?

Answer

You are not required to stay at Paradise Point where the Bride and Groom have reserved a room block, but we would encourage you to do so if it is within your budget for a few reasons: 1. It's Gorgeous! The rooms are right on the bay, the hotel hosts some amazing amenities (5 pools, 2 restaurants, mini golf, watersports marina, etc.), and it's centrally located to all the fun in SD. 2. It's Convenient! We invited you to our wedding because you are special to us, being at the same hotel gives us more opportunities to hang out with you. Plus, the ceremony location is just outside the hotel. 3. It's very San Diego! Paradise point was constructed in the 60's by a movie producer for the then newly-opened Mission Bay Park. It's also the Bride's favorite ever since a particularly excellent childhood bonfire. We negotiated a great deal on rooms for our guests and the resort fee is 100% covered when you book as part of our group. Please reserve your room with the link on our 'Travel' page, or call the hotel concierge directly and mention you are there for the Himlin/Law wedding to ensure you are placed with our group.

Question

When do I need to book my room by?When do I need to book my room by?

Answer

We appreciate if you would reserve your room ASAP so we know to add more rooms if needed, but the last date to book your room with our specially contracted group rate is October 10th.

Question

What is the terrain and (related) what shoes should I wear? What is the terrain and (related) what shoes should I wear?

Answer

The ceremony location is on a grassy field in Vacation Isle Park West, so we recommend thicker heels or wedges if you plan on wearing a shoe with a heel (stiletto's sink). Cute flats are also a great idea. It is approximately 100-200 feet from the parking lot to the ceremony location via paved pathway.

Question

What are the wedding colors? Can I wear them? What are the wedding colors? Can I wear them?

Answer

The colors we've chosen are royal navy, copper, and gold. You are welcome to wear ANY of these colors, but they are not required. Just don't wear white (duh).
