Parker and I met through our best friends on November 15th, 2019. Some compliments were shared, numbers were exchanged, and our overly scared Saint Bernard tried to bite his hat off. Parker lived in Lawrence, and I was in Wichita at the time, but we made it work! The hours had turned into days and the days turned into months- and along the way, we grew with each new turn. In May of 2020, we surprisingly found out we were expecting a baby. We felt all sorts of emotions and nervously made our next decisions accordingly so. Nothing makes life feel terrifying until you have a baby. We only grew stronger with each passing moment. We fought our fear of the unknown with the love we have for each other. Making it through some of the most difficult of times by each other's sides. We feared the day when I would go into labor with our son, Ledger. Not because we weren't ready, but because we were the readiest we had ever been- and we knew the risks that were given to us. Of which was out of our control. How there was a chance that our baby boy wouldn't come home with us. But life has that not-so-funny way of teaching you lessons while scaring the crap out of you simultaneously. It taught us how love prevails through it all. How bad days are inevitable; but manageable through determination. It reminds us of how the best things in life are those that aren't always planned. We never expected any of this, not in our wildest dreams. But we found each other, fell in love, gave life to our beautiful baby boy, made a home, and are spending the rest of our lives together- unexpectedly. We would not change a single thing about our perfect love story. Our perfect little family.
