It was on August 7th in the evening. I was browsing around on a dating site called Our Time. Its for people over 50. I saw his profile and thought he was very nice looking and read his profile. I read he was in the Navy and he lives in Dallas. I decided to pass because he looked to smart for me ( I know silly) and he lived 45 mins from me. Not very many people want to meet anyone that far. Within few minutes, I noticed a "pop up" message saying that Mike was looking at my profile and I thought to myself, oh boy there's goes my luck. Within seconds, he sent me a message saying hi and that I have a very nice profile. I said, if you like to talk to me or text here is my number. He text me and said, I'll call you tomorrow. I'm going to bed. I looked at my watch thought wow you're going to be early it's 8:30 PM? He said, he gets up real early and has to be on the road. The next day, he text me before I went to work and we text back and forth for few minutes. He asked, if we can meet for lunch and I said, sure. We met at Braum's and had a really nice chat about each other. He immediately knew I was the one and he swept me off my feet ever since.
We only been dating for four months but here we are, we both been married twice before, dated people and have raised our own kids. People think we been married for a long time because of how we act toward each other. Some people were shocked to learned we only been dating this short period of time. It was pretty neat to hear them be all excited about us dating. So, one afternoon we were talking and having some alone time before the kids came home from work. Mike was so anxious and so excited he couldn't wait til the next day to propose to me during Thanksgiving gathering. It was quiet and perfect and he sat down and was holding the box and looked at me. Here how he proposed to me; Lore from the moment I saw you I knew you were the right woman for me. In my heart you are my soul mate and my best friend. It would be my honor if you would please be my wife, will you marry me? I smiled from ear to ear and said, "yes"!!! We were both over joyed and we were so excited and nervous to share the news with everyone at Thanksgiving dinner. My daughters came home and I showed them the ring and they were so ecstatic for us both. They were so happy that we found each other and they knew right from the start that we were meant to be together.
After we have announced our engagement in November. 2018 was the beginning of our new life together until health issues has been a struggle for the last four months. Although, I was already having major sinus and headache problems from the time he met me in August of 2017. Mike was put in the hospital the start of January, they discovered he had blood clots in his right heart and his lower abdomen. He has been in and out of the hospital in the last four months. His life has changed dramatically and I had to understand what he was going through. We fought, argued, disagreed and then it was til I told him that I'm almost to a point to where I was about to give up. He came to realization and I did too that we both been through hard knocks of life and we both supported each other to make this work and survive what ever obstacles we have hit. It made me realize that he love me unconditionally and he is willing to hold my hand of whatever pain, tears and frustrations I may be going through and he wasn't leaving my side. He has shown me what love is and he has shown me that we have each other's back and we are stronger than we think. I am by his side no matter what comes our way. I am his rock as well. Love and faith has always been there right in front of us we just never paid attention to it. I am thankful to be in his life and to have him in mine. After April, he was given a clean bill of health. His stents in his heart is working well and we both been on a happy path ever since. You see, life is a challenge that has been given to us. We just have to choose how we deal with it and don't give up. Because at the end, we will come out as winners!!!
