How We Met
How We Met I was first introduced to his family back in middle school through his sister, Stephanie. At the time, I had no idea who she—or her family—would one day become to me. We went on to attend different high schools, and years passed without any contact. Then, years later, I saw her again at an event hosted by our mutual friend Dorothea—a beautiful night where Dorothea’s grandparents shared their love story. I reintroduced myself, met her older sister Franchester, and soon after, we found ourselves in the same community, deeply involved in ministry and life together. For years, Emmanuel and I were often in the same church and friend circles—but we were never friends ourselves. Somehow, our worlds stayed so near without ever fully colliding. At the start of 2024, that changed. We truly believe that we are the product of God’s timing. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “God has made everything beautiful in its time,” and that is our story. We’re so grateful for how He orchestrated it all and honored to share this moment with you.

After the ceremony, please enjoy a brief intermission before joining us at the reception. We kindly ask for your patience during this time as we take photos. Feel free to take a moment to refresh, grab a coffee, or enjoy a stroll through Central Park in Winter Park. Doors to the reception will open promptly at 6:00 PM. Fun fact: Emmanuel took me to an Italian restaurant just six minutes from our reception venue on our very first date. Back then, we had no idea Chayote even existed! Funny how God brings us back to certain places—at a better time, as a better version of ourselves.

Our reception will be held at Chayote Barrio Kitchen—a new Latin restaurant with beautiful design and even better cuisine. Emmanuel and I actually had a date there while we were checking out venues, and we fell in love with the food. If you're up for it, try something new! We truly hope you enjoy the flavors, the atmosphere, and the full experience. Please note: Alcohol will be available for purchase by debit or credit card only—no cash accepted.
