March 23, 2012 is the day I said yes to being Chan's girlfriend. December 14th, 2019 is the day I said yes to being Chan's wife! We're high school sweethearts, but what many don't know is that Chan and I met in middle school, and he asked me to be his girlfriend after a soccer game in 8th grade. We've been best friends ever since. One week turned into one year, then 2 years, then six. At lucky number seven, he asked me to spend forever with him. If you don't believe in soulmates we're here to tell you they exist!
"We don't have a reservation for you..." -Jeff Ruby's hostess. "That can't be right, we have a reservation for 7 PM here. Someone called for us, can you check again?" -Chandler. "It's seriously okay Chan, let's just eat somewhere else!" -clueless Lora. After what was I'm sure an excruciating 15 minutes for Chandler, we had exactly 1 hour and 30 minutes to sit down at Jeff Ruby's. The best meal I've ever had in my life: worth it. After a glamorous dinner where I felt far too at home, Chan suggested we go walk around downtown. Looking back, this should have been my first hint because "walking" and "downtown" are not two words Chan frequently puts together. After a strange sighting of my dad, who is terrible at hiding, Chandler got down on one knee where we were surrounded by the lit up faces of family by the Christmas tree in Triangle Park. I have no idea what he said to me because I was bursting with excitement, but it was the easiest "yes" I've always known he'd have.
