FAQs

Question

Hotel Block

Answer

We have a room block at the Hilton Milwaukee, where the reception is taking place. Please see the "Travel" section for the reservation link.

Question

Children Policy

Answer

While we’d love to celebrate with your little ones, the reception will be adults-only except for immediate family. However, everyone is welcome to join us for the ceremony at 1 pm!

Question

Transportation

Answer

We do not have scheduled transportation to and from the ceremony - however, the drive between the Basilica and the Hilton is short (about 10 minutes). If you don’t have a car, Uber and Lyft are great options!

Question

I'm not Catholic - should I attend the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, please! While our ceremony will include Catholic traditions, we welcome everyone to participate in the parts that feel comfortable to them. Whether in prayer, song, or reflection, we greatly appreciate your presence!

Question

Parking

Answer

There is a free parking lot at the Basilica. We ask that most guests park in the back parking lot just south of the Basilica (located off of Hayes and 6th street). Please reserve the smaller parking lot (West side of Basilica) for elderly guests and bridal party. For the reception, there’s a parking garage attached to the Hilton Milwaukee with a discounted rate of $10 (event only) or $20 for overnight parking. For overnight parking you may come and go as you please - take your ticket to the front desk for payment. For event parking only, please grab a parking ticket located at one of the bars during cocktail hour or reception.

Question

Ceremony Arrival Time

Answer

Please plan to be seated by 12:45 PM, as the ceremony will start promptly at 1 PM. Thank you for your cooperation!

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes! There will be an open bar during cocktail hour and throughout the remainder of the night. This means we hope to see you on the dance floor!

Question

Dress code

Answer

Semi-Formal - meaning suits for men (tuxes are welcome but not necessary), and cocktail to floor-length dresses, and dressy jumpsuits are all acceptable.
