Matthew and Loni met at the good ol' original Beaumont Buffalo Wild Wings. Loni would have people over to her apartment when everyone left work, and one day her friend Haylee invited some coworkers from the morning shift that she had met. This is how Matthew and his best man, Trevor, became part of Loni's new friend circle. At one of their hangouts, Matthew commented on the Prisma Colored Pencils on Loni's table and asked if she drew. Realizing that they both had art in common, their friendship grew. Loni began asking Matt to be her companion on all her errands or if she wanted someone to eat lunch with.
