Then the Two became One..
We met while Kory was living at The Collective and I just started working in the building. One night in the beginning of my training Kory was walking by and my coworker made sure to stop and introduce him as one of the "cool residents". We would exchange a little small talk whenever we crossed paths being friendly. Then one day Kory asked about places to go out and I took his number in case I wanted to invite him out with my friends. Since he was knew to the area I thought it would be a nice thing to do. From there he would always stop past the desk to make sure I was good or ask if I needed anything to eat. Each time I said no. Then came Thanksgiving night and I had to work, the residents in the building were so nice bringing food and drink down to the desk. Kory was alone since his family all lived far away, he came down to offer to get my some food from a local restaurant before they closed (thankfully because I didn't want to eat from the strangers). When he brought the food back I offered to share a bottle of champagne one of the residents had given me that night. After my shift he walked me down to my car in the garage and we shared a few glasses of champagne and great conversation. Keep in mind it was Covid times so this was our first time seeing each other without the masks. Needless to say we both approved. From that night on it would become routine for Kory to wait until I got off and walk me to my car and us to stand around talking. This turned into text messages and FaceTime calls, all still while being just friends. Then one night I finally followed through and went to actually just hang out with him. From that day to today we have been inseparable. I guess you can say when you know you just know.
