The Proposal
Every Sunday, Jarrett and Taylor went to Mass at St. John the Baptist Cathedral. One beautiful morning, Jarrett said they’d meet Gammy for 9 a.m. Mass—but then “Gammy overslept,” giving them time for a walk on The Battery. Taylor, a stickler for plans, needed some convincing—but Jarrett got her there. As they neared the fountain, they spotted their puppy Reese. Before Taylor could react, Jarrett said, “She had to be here—she’s part of our family.” Then, with a heartfelt speech about their future, he dropped to one knee and asked, “Will you marry me?” Through happy tears, Taylor said yes. Suddenly, family and friends—including not-so-sleepy Gammy—appeared from hiding to celebrate. Turns out, Gammy had been in on it all along, helping with Reese and setting the scene. Jarrett had planned every detail to perfection, turning their Sunday ritual into the start of forever.
