Right by the hotels, this walkable area features shops and restaurants. If you're looking for a place to eat, we recommend: Jealous Monk (where we are having our after party), Pink Basil (Asian), Mango's Pizza, and Rio Salado (Mexican, across the street from the village with great margs.)
A Mystic staple featuring beluga whales, penguins, sharks, and a stellar sea lion show that Emily was once part of (see proof in the image above.) Walking distance from the Hilton Mystic.
A 5 minute drive from the hotel blocks, this is our favorite part of Mystic full of boutiques, bars, and restaurants. A few of our favorite spots (all within walking distance of each other) include: - For a Meal: Oyster Club, S&P Oyster, Bravo Bravo, Engine Room, Red 36 - For a Drink: Port of Call (nautical themed cocktail lounge), Treehouse (next to Oyster Club), Bank & Bridge Brewing (a bank converted into a brewery) - For Coffee and a Pastry: Sift Bake Shop (there will be a line but it is worth it) - For Ice Cream: Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream (enjoy a cone while watching the bridge go up!)
The largest maritime museum in the United States, notable for its collection of sailing ships and re-creation of an entire 19th-century seafaring village. Fun fact: as a child, Emily often dressed up for/walked in the Seaport's 4th of July parade and as a teen, spent every Sunday afternoon in the summer volunteering there.
