Quite honestly, they met by chance. 13 years ago, Mario and Lolis shared a car ride together with Mario’s mom, and both of their little sisters on their way to a church basketball game. Mario hardly attended church or any events for that matter and the one day he decided to, there was Lolis! Lolis and Mario had seen each other before at church but had not formally met. The car ride was the first time they ever exchanged a word but it definitely was not their last. After the game, they all went to have lunch at CPK. It just so happened Lolis and Mario ended up sitting side by side at lunch and they had a chance to get to know each other. During the car ride home, they talked about where they were headed off to college, what sports they played, and music! Mario was playing DJ and to Lolis’ surprise, they had very similar tastes. Unknowingly, Lolis and Mario secretly had a happy feeling about each other but knew it would be short-lived as they were headed off to college in the fall. To their surprise, their love had a different plan for them! About a week after they met, Lolis saw Mario at church, said hello and asked him about a song he played on the car ride home. Later that week, Lolis received a Facebook request and message and well that was that. Mario started to visit church more frequently and while some thought it was to get closer to God, his secret plan was to get close to Lolis. Her curiosity in the music prompted Mario to surprise Lolis with a “burned CD” of love songs. The CD left Lolis swooning and they agreed to go on a date. Out of all places, they decided on CPK, which in retrospect became a significant symbol of their love. CPK was the place they first shared a meal and on April 19, 2011, it was where Mario asked Lolis to Prom and for her to be his girlfriend (sounds like a good commercial for CPK, right?!). Mario and Lolis both talk about their first date as the day they found their other half. They just knew they were meant for each other. After the date, Mario and Lolis spent almost every single day from spring to the end of summer with one another. They were inseparable and built such a love that is felt ‘till this day. 13 years later, Lolis and Mario keep living in that same love and in a few months, get to share it will all of you!
