We're Getting Married!

Travis and I both transferred to Sam Houston our second year of college. I had one year of community college under my belt, while Travis completed his Associates degree at Navarro College. It was probably the middle of our shared first semester at Sam Houston that we met. I had gotten out of class and walked to the usual door I walk out of to head to my car when I realized it was POURING rain. I had not come prepared for rain, I had no umbrella and to make matters worse I was wearing crocs. I stood inside the Criminal Justice building staring out the glass doors waiting for the rain to subside enough that I could run to my car. Travis, unbeknownst to me, came to do the same thing. He tried sparking up a conversation with me which I believe started with a classic line. He said something similar to "Man, this rain sure does suck huh?" Which I of course laughed at, because why would I not acknowledge the cute guy who is suddenly talking to me? We proceeded to chat and I explained I was waiting to run to my car. He was waiting for his roommate to come pick him up (shoutout Manny). He literally offered me a ride when we realized we lived at the same apartment complex, but I said no. He was cute but i was not trying to be the start of a true crime podcast. We went our separate ways and a week later we ran into each other again as we realize we shared a class together. Then we realized we shared two classes together and proceeded to sit next to each other in both of them. I think I remember a professor telling us to stop talking during class one day because we just enjoyed our constant conversation and he kept making me laugh (which was probably so annoying to everyone around us). The semester ended and I got caught up in sorority activities and life, which led to us not talking as often as we had. Well well well, second semester started and I was invited to join a club on campus. I basically forced Travis to join it since he was invited also, along with Manny his roommate. This club sparked our conversations right back up and the rest was history. We began dating on March 29th, 2020. And now we are getting married March 29th, 2025. It's crazy how something as simple as rain can make two strangers spark up a conversation and lead to a beautiful love story.
