Our Forever Begins

On August 11, 2016, Devon sent Tanasia a Snapchat message. Just one little message… and somehow, everything clicked. Funny enough, they had gone to the same elementary school, middle school, and high school and never crossed paths. With mutual friends and years of shared hallways, it’s wild to think that social media is what finally brought them together. Proof that timing really is everything. Their first date was on August 16, 2016, at Carvel. But before the ice cream, there was a test. Tanasia, understandably skeptical of giving her address to a “Snapchat stranger,” made Devon pick her up at Kmart instead. Luckily for Devon, the date went way better than the pickup location suggested. That Carvel date led to many more: strolling through Laurelwood Arboretum, trips to the mall, and finding every possible excuse to spend more time together. They learned early on that they could sit in the same room for hours without saying a word and still feel completely at home. Always peaceful, comfortable, and somehow entertained. Not every date needed big plans; sometimes, watching The Office together was more than enough. On September 3, 2016, Devon officially asked Tanasia to be his girlfriend and the rest is history. Their first “I love you” happened in a grocery store because love doesn’t wait for perfect timing. Followed by prom together, countless memories, and traveling the world especially cruising, their absolute favorite way to explore together. Then, on December 8, 2024, Devon brought Tanasia to one of their favorite places in Hoboken, New Jersey right by the waterfront. A spot where they’ve spent hours sitting, talking, laughing, and admiring the skyline. This time was different. Devon got down on one knee and asked Tanasia to marry him. It was the easiest “yes” she’s ever said. From a Snapchat message to a Kmart pickup, from ice cream dates to world travels, their love story is full of laughter, patience, and a whole lot of love. And now, they’re ready to start their greatest adventure yet together, forever.
