We met when we were 15 in the parking lot of Grace Bible Church on the way to Hartland Christian Summer Camp. We chatted on the bus ride and by the time we were there Chris was completely smitten with Rachel (at least that's what Rachel likes to think!). After we got back from camp Rachel really liked Chris and did what all mature 15 year olds do- she told her friends to tell Chris to ask her out. We went to the movies for our first date and from there the rest is history! We went to separate colleges for undergrad but maintained our relationship long-distance until we both ended up in Michigan last year. Now we're both in the same city for the first time in 5 years and have the cutest dog named Ruby. We're so excited to begin this next chapter!

It was the first snowy day of the season so we decided to take our dog, Ruby, out for a snow walk. As we walked through our favorite grove of trees Chris stopped suddenly and said, "It looks like Ruby found something". Knowing that Ruby has a knack for finding things she shouldn't, Rachel rolled her eyes and said, "Now what?". Chris went over to Ruby and that's when Rachel noticed the ring on Ruby's collar. Chris took the ring off of Ruby, got down on one knee, and asked Rachel to marry him. Rachel, of course, said yes!
