Katy's Side: The night we met almost didn't happen. It had been a long day of working and I truly considered canceling. However, something told me that I really needed to for real meet this guy in person. I'm so glad that I did. He came over and we talked for hours about everything we could think of and the whole time I could only focus on how sweet and cute he was. When he left, I remember telling myself that I was for sure going to hang out with him again. Over the next couple weeks, we hung out several times and Logan took me on several dates. It didn't take me long to realize that Logan was definitely who I wanted to be with. Logan's Side: This was the night we actually hung out for the first time. I was pretty nervous; I know sounds weird but I was. I couldn't find her apartment in the complex and her details weren't the best. It was dark and I couldn't read any of the signs. After calling her twice, because she wouldn't answer the first time, I finally found it by some miracle. When I knocked on the door, this beautiful girl opened the door with a white cat in her arms. That night was filled with me talking while Katy just nodded her head and smiled. When I left that night I told Katy I hoped we could hang out again. She responded with "We'll see." I figured she was playing hard to get so I knew I had to see her again. Luckily for me, we hung out after that and every time I would leave she would leave me with "We'll see", which I knew meant "can't wait." After a lot of "we'll sees", we finally started going on some real dates and it didn't take long for me to realize that there was something special about Katy. I knew she was the one!
Katy's Side: This was the day that Logan told me, not asked, that I was girlfriend. It was late at night and we were riding home in the back of his mom's car. He leaned over and whispered, "Just so you know, I already consider you my girlfriend." I remember being so awkward and just giving him a half smile and an eyebrow raise. I don't think I ever responded, instead I just stared out the window the entire way home. Back at his house, he asked how I felt about what he said; I think you can pretty much figure out I felt. We have been together for almost two years now I know we'll be together for many more. Logan's Side: This was the night I told Katy that I felt like she was my girlfriend. I could tell it made her a little awkward at the moment, but after some time she finally said she felt the same way. So yeah we were 100% a couple from then on.
Logan & I started our day in Attalla having breakfast at Crackle Barrel with my parents. Eventually, we were headed back to Birmingham and the plan was to get my nails done. However me being me, I was acting a little bratty and decided that I just wanted to go home. One of the things I love about Logan is how patient is with me. He told me that if I really wanted to get my nails done that I should and that he would pay for it. So he drove us there and I'll just let y'all know that Logan is fun to go the nail salon with. He helped me pick the color, talked with me the whole time, and even made me feel better when the nails themselves didn't live up to my expectations. Later Logan woke me up from a longer than expected nap and told me that I only had an hour to get ready. There are two things that you should know, 1) I don't like to be woken up from naps & 2) an hour is not an sufficient amount of time for me to get ready. So unfortunately for Logan I was grumpy and rushing around the apartment. After several outfit changes and some complaints of how my hair and makeup looked, we finally left to go get a quick picture before we went to the restaurant. Logan had told me a couple days before I got back that he had met the couple who owned the house in front of a lookout spot in Birmingham. They gave him permission to use it if he ever needed for videos or projects he was working on. That's where he wanted to go for the picture. He drove us up there, began setting up his camera stuff, and asked me to go stand in the spot. Before he came over he told me forgot something in his car so he ran over there. I impatiently waited for him. The next things that happened still don't seem real. Logan came back fumbling with something he couldn't get out of his pocket. "What are you doing?" "What is that?" Logan went down on one knee. "What are you doing?" Logan pulled the box out and opened it. It hit me that he was proposing. "Will you marry me?" Of course, I happily said "Yes."
This was the most spectacular day yet. Let's start from the beginning. That morning we went to Attalla to eat breakfast with her parents. Then we were headed to Hoover so she could get her nails done. However, she was saying that she didn't want to get them done anymore, but I worked my magic and we got them done. She wasn't in the best mood after, so she took a nap since she was still on Spain time. I tried to wake her up from her nap early enough for her to get ready because she usually takes a while, but she wouldn't get out of the bed. Finally she was up with an hour and a half before we had to leave. And boyyyy was she grumpy. She got ready in time though and we headed to get our "picture" before our "dinner reservations". (The reservations never existed.) When we got to the spot where I wanted to take the pictures, I set everything up and got her to stand out there so I could adjust the camera. I pretended I forgot something for the camera in the car, but I really needed a reason to go back and get the ring. Even from a distance I could tell Katy with still a little grumpy and ready to get pictures over with. I finally got back out to her, got down on one knee, and asked Katy to marry me. She was in awe and had no idea what was going on, but of course she said yes.
