Quinton and I officially met at a birthday party my best friend and I were throwing for her brother and my sister. We exchanged nervous hellos and laughed over how to lace a pair of vans correctly. During that weekend we contracted Covid, causing Quinton to have to stay to quarantine with my best friend and I in our home. It was during this time we bonded most and got to know each other. Since that day we have been inseparable 🤍
Our engagement truly came by surprise to me. Not a surprise because I thought it wouldn’t happen, but because I didn’t think it would be now. About two weeks before, I was told that we were invited to a birthday brunch for one of Quintons cousins. We hadn’t been out together in a while and I was excited to hang with his family. A few days before the brunch Quinton tells me we needed to wear all white. This immediately inconvenienced me because I thought I had my outfit picked out and I had nothing white to wear… Quinton suggested I go to the mall, find something and while there I might as well do my nails. I did not want to spend money on my nails, lol. He then went and got my best friend involved to force me to the nail shop, and take me to the mall. Which I’m so glad he did because she made a whole day of it and invited my other best friends. After a long day of looking around, I finally settled on an outfit. The next morning Quinton, Easton and I attended church and after went home to change. I was told brunch started at 3, and because I try to be as punctual as possible we didn’t stop to eat nor did we eat at home while getting ready. We were starving! Once we were finally in the car, Quinton tells me that his cousins are running late so we should stop somewhere else to eat before arriving there. We listened to music and I was entertained on my phone until we turned into a park and I was so confused. Once I looked around I seen a group of people that looked to be my family and I immediately started crying before even exiting the car. Quinton said “well babe, it’s about that time” and I knew what was happening. We walked out of that park a newly engaged couple!
