How We Met

Fall 2015

During our senior year at UNF in Fall 2015, Logan and I had many of the same classes together as finance majors. One night in class (namely the worst tax class ever), I remember seeing Logan and noticed how cute he was. So cute that I went on a hunt to find him on social media. He was hard to find since he was only using his first and middle name online, but after adding him and seeing pictures with a girl, I didn't pursue getting to know him. We last saw each other in the backstage hallway right before our graduation ceremony April 2016. Fast forward to 2018, when he “slid into my DMs” on Instagram about how cute my dog Duke was. He is cute, isn’t he? Logan now available, we kept messaging until we planned a weekend for me to visit him in South Florida over St. Patrick's Day weekend 2019. After, of course, vetting each other through our mutual friend Brian Portman. Logan knew Brian from high school and I knew Brian through our young professionals group in Jacksonville. Logan & I hit it off and after that commemorative weekend, we've been living our best lives ever since! The icing on the cake was when we closed the long distance gap in September 2020 when I moved to South Florida, followed by a one-month van trip out to Colorado/Utah, and the newest addition of our second puppy, Dash in March 2021. Who knew love could be so easy!

The Proposal

10/15/2021

For my birthday, Logan said he had a surprise weekend planned for us. That Friday evening, once the truck was packed, he shared that we'd be going by boat to a nearby hotel for a weekend getaway. DREAMY! I was so excited. He said Saturday would be a jam packed day so we wouldn't be doing much Friday night other than dinner before arriving at the hotel. While on the way to "dinner," Logan suggested stopping to watch the sunset on the sandbar because we were early for our reservation. As I was putting out the anchor to mark our spot, he got down on one knee behind me. When I turned around, he said "I had to find some way to anchor you down." HA! The funniest, on-brand, boat pun I'd ever heard. Then, of course, I said yes! He pointed out the drone he scheduled to capture our special moment together. After sending the drone on it's way and soaking in the last few minutes of light together, we cruised over to Square Grouper, where Logan and I had our first date two and a half years prior, joined by families and friends (including some from Jacksonville). It was PERFECT! He really thought of everything, including the most beautifully designed ring and making sure I didn’t schedule any meetings late that afternoon. And other than stressing over packing bag for a fake getaway, I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. See you in the Bahamas!
