Flight
SMF is an easy airport to get in and out of, but tends to be more expensive than SFO, OAK, SJC. the drive from Sacramento to Pinecrest is approximately 2.5 hours.
Flight
SFO tends to be a cheaper, and BART (the local Bay Area Transit) is connected to the airport and is easy to use. However, if you are not going to use BART, SFO can be a pain to get a rental car and to get out of the city. There tends to be a lot of traffic, especially trying to get out of the city during rush hour. Also, when you are heading back to SFO you will have to pay $5 to cross the bridge. It is approximately 3 hours to Pinecrest from SFO.
Flight
SJC airport is sometimes inexpensive to fly into and sometimes not. It just depends. SJC is NOT connected to BART, so you will have to rent a car. This airport is small and is generally easy to get in and out of. However, if you are getting in around rush hour (3pm to 7pm), the traffic will be horrible. The drive from the airport to Pinecrest is approximately 3 hours.

Flight
OAK is usually the cheapest airport to fly into. It is really easy to get in and out of the airport unlike SFO. You also will not have to pay the toll coming back to OAK. If you are renting a car, beware of rush hour traffic (3pm to 7pm)--it is especially bad on Fridays. BART is connected to the airport and you can easily get into San Francisco or other parts of the Bay. OAK is also right next to the coliseum. Lastly, if traveling at night, OAK and BART can be a bit sketchy, be careful.
