Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Our wedding will be at this resort, so it will be the most convenient. This is the Deluxe resort we have chosen for our room block. Though Disney's Polynesian Resort & Disney's Contemporary Resort are not on our room block, they will be your next most convenient hotels. They are located next to Grand Floridian and you can easily access all three hotels on a quick monorail ride. They are also both Deluxe hotels.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

This is the Moderate resort we chose for our room block. It is 4.5 miles (a 13 minute car ride) from Grand Floridian. Disney transportation from this resort is by bus only and if you take the bus it will drop you off at TTC, where you can then board the monorail to Grand Floridian (provide yourself with a minimum of an hour in advance for this form of transportation).

Disney's All-Star Movies Resort

This is the Value resort we chose for our room block. It is the most affordable Disney resort. It is 7.4 miles (a 17 minute car ride) from Grand Floridian. Disney transportation from this resort is by bus only and if you take the bus it will drop you off at TTC, where you can then board the monorail to Grand Floridian (provide yourself with a minimum of 1.5 hours to ensure you arrive on time if you take the bus).

Ubers & Lyft

Ubers and Lyfts are widely available and usually affordable in the resort area. In my experience using a Lyft from a hotel off property to a Disney Resort it takes about 15 minutes and costs $10-$15. Though all Disney resorts provide transportation, it is much quicker to take a Lyft or Uber to Grand Floridian for our wedding to ensure you arrive on time, since we are having a morning wedding.

Travel Note

Disney Buses

If you take the bus you should plan to leave at least an hour in advance in case of delays and stops along route. The bus always takes longer than you think it is going to. It is essential to check the bus schedule for your resort and to take into account that it may make multiple stops along the route and will drop you off at Magic Kingdom, NOT at Grand Floridian. You will need to get from either the front of Magic Kingdom or Ticket & Transportation Center to Grand Floridian by boarding the monorail. You should plan for another 15 minutes to take the monorail to get there.
