McKenna and Logan first met as 10-year-olds at Camp Cheley in Estes Park, Colorado. It all began when McKenna wrote in her journal there was "a cute boy who keeps looking at me! I think he likes me!" in 2009. A summer camp crush began. They wrote each other letters back and forth all summer and Logan asked McKenna to the square dance. After a few years at camp, they stayed in touch every year for nearly a decade. Birthday messages, talking about how big of crushes they had on eachother years later, and thousands of facebook messages along the way. Logan messaged McKenna when he was on family vacation in San Diego in highschool, not knowing they'd both end up living together there years later. Years passed, with McKenna in San Diego and Logan in Denver, living their lives in different directions. But fate had other plans. They both ended up attending the University of San Diego for college. They became friends freshman year and laughed about old camp memories. Shortly after, Logan asked McKenna to his fraternity formal, just like the square dance days, and McKenna said yes. The two have been inseparable ever since. What started as a childhood crush is now turning into a lifelong marriage. (thank god for coordinated dances) Camp Cheley will always hold a special place in their hearts—not just as the place their story began, but as a shared family tradition. McKenna’s mom and uncle Bart (their officiant!) attended the camp at the same age in the 70s, along with her sister Kylie, now her maid of honor, and Logan’s brother Ben, who will stand by his side as best man. McKenna and Logan's story reminds us that sometimes, the paths to love are in our lives long before we realize it, and to always say yes to the dance.
