Moments after the engagement!
Logan couldn’t resist asking Mark to marry her – jokingly, and often. Very often. They’d been together nearly two years when it started. One day, while watching the wonderful (and terrible) romcom Leap Year, Mark mentioned how ironic it would be to finally propose to Logan in Ireland on that day, when the old Irish tradition states that the girl should propose to the guy based on a legend of Saint Bridget and Saint Patrick. That movie night at home inspired a fun, new twist on the running joke. Then they realized 2024 was, in fact, a leap year – and they were ready to marry each other. First, Mark and Logan went to a local jeweler together to craft a special engagement ring (c/o @goodform.jewelry). Full of excitement from the meeting, Mark decided an impromptu trip to Ireland was in order, if they could make it work on such short notice. Next thing they knew, their running joke was becoming reality. They snagged flights from Toronto at a great rate, and their favorite hotel just opened a spot in Dublin. It was meant to be. Mark and Logan arrived in Ireland on Feb. 29, 2024 – Leap Day. The two walked to Saint Stephen’s Green, where Mark got down on one knee and asked Logan to marry him! (Yes, they broke from Irish folklore just a tad.) When she said yes, a couple of Irish school girls broke out in cheers from across the pond. The newly engaged couple then celebrated at a local pub – where they were given an Irish blessing and toasted two pints of Guinness. It was a magical day, and a Leap Year that will always be remembered. 🍀
