End of High School Sweethearts

Dallas and I went to the same high school, and had the same large group of friends - but we were never very close or really ever talked. He was always the "cute" guy in school, but was never dating anyone and just kept close to his friends. Senior year was the first time that I ever really thought I had a chance to talk to him when his best friend tried to get him to ask me to prom (spoiler alert: he didn't.) Around graduation time a lot of our class was hanging out together and I started to have a little crush on him. Our moms actually worked at the same school at the time and I tried to use that as a conversation starter one day on the way out of school, but it didn't go very far, LOL. But, with the strong encouragement from his friend Alex Perry (MVP), he finally made a move. We dated all summer and into college, took some time apart freshman year, and have been together again ever since Country USA in June 2014. We have been by each other's side through college, grad school, moving in our first home, starting my business, and traveling the world. We have celebrated many of our friends' weddings and growing families, and we are excited for our turn. Dallas proposed October 1st, while we were visiting Switzerland. We went to see the village that the Stecher name comes from, and stayed at the most perfect B&B that served a dinner that we will remember for the rest of our lives because of how fantastic it was. After dinner, he took me to a room that the owner had helped prepare with wine and rose petals and he got down on one knee and finally popped the question. The REAL surprise was the next day when my sisters showed up in Switzerland to surprise me to celebrate....I was a PUDDLE. It was more than perfect. We have been asked more times than we can count over the past 10 years (will be more than 11 come wedding day) 'When are you getting married?' and Dallas has taken PLENTY of heat for not asking yet. But the truth is, we have been completely satisfied with the life that we have been living and building together, and we are ready to officially celebrate all that we have done together and mark the next chapter in our lives. We can't wait to have all of the people who have watched us grow together over the years in one room with us to have the official party we have all been waiting for. Let's do this!
