Logan and I met at a party at UT. I was standing in line for the bathroom with a girl from my sorority who just happened to be a friend of his from back home. I really didn't think much of it at the time, but I thought he was nice because he let me go ahead of him in line.
A few months after we met, Logan messaged me on social media. He had remembered me from the party because I was with a girl he knew named Corinne (what are the odds of that??) We talked for a few weeks, and he actually became a pretty good friend. He was just so easy to talk to! We ended up going on a date because we made a bet (who knows what it was about), and he lost. His wager was taking me out to dinner. We made plans to meet downtown in Market Square and he told me he would meet me in the garage and walk with me. I began to question my decision-making skills when I saw him pull up in his jeep... This thing was army green with stars on the side, had tires the size of my entire body and came with a snorkel. Then to top it all off, this country boy with cowboy boots hopped out and started walking towards me. Anybody who knows anything about me is laughing by this point. He was completely opposite of me entirely. After the initial shock wore off, we ended up having a fantastic night! We ate dinner at Tupelo Honey and talked for so long that we actually ended up going to get dessert at Coffee and Chocolate afterwards. On my way home, I remember thinking about how great of a night we just had and wondering if he felt the same way. Not even 5 minutes after I got back home, I received a text from Logan saying, "Hey, what's up!" I guess that answered my question!
It was a rainy day in Charleston, SC. We were on our way to Myrtle Beach but stopped for a concert at Patriot's Point to disguise my plan. We had spent the day being typical tourists; exploring the Charleston Market, walking through the Battery, and taking pictures on Rainbow Row. I convinced her to leave downtown fairly early so that we could get dressed up and continue our date from the year before where I told her "brace yourself, Charleston is the perfect place to fall in love." Back Story: I had taken Corrin to look at rings and found the one immediately. I had also bought her a fancy dress to take to Charleston for our date night and had it shipped to her house. In the midst of these events, I messaged her dad to ask him to go shoot and ask for his blessing. Being unaware of my plan, he told her... Being the little detective that she is, she had begun to piece together the puzzle. I found out that she knew and had to break her heart. I told her that the store I was planning to buy from kept increasing the price and that I refused to do business with them even though they were the only dealer of that brand within a day's drive. This meant that we would not be getting engaged in Charleston like she had hoped. Back to the Proposal: We got fancied up and went to a nice restaurant on the harbor where she wanted to walk the docks to look at all the yachts. Knowing full well that the docks were gated, I agreed to go. When we drove by and she discovered that this was not an option, we "settled" on a walk in Battery Park instead. Little did she know that this was the plan all along and my family was waiting for us at the Pineapple Fountain. We took some "family" pictures at the fountain and when we took our couples photo I told her that there was a cute puppy behind her. This distraction worked a little too well because she couldn't find the puppy. I ended up having to tap her on the shoulder to get her to turn around. I was down on one knee and the rest is history.
