We're Getting Married!

Circa 2012, they were two teenage kids with way too much free access to the internet (sorry, Mom and Dad). It was the dawn of Instagram, and they were both deeply invested in the #FollowForFollow movement. By some small miracle, they started following each other. As kids, they talked about school, friendships, and how their parents made them mad that day. As teens, they discussed relationships, the future, and the crush they'd both developed but knew they couldn't act on. Their hearts ached with a silent longing, knowing that their feelings were locked away in the digital space between them. As adults, they grew apart and only spoke to check in on each other and make sure life was treating them well. They texted, they FaceTimed, they argued, and they laughed. They were friends above all else and each other's sounding board for when life just wasn't going their way. One day, they lost contact altogether, though they thought of each other fondly from time to time. Brooke got rid of all social media and didn't have a current number for Logan. Logan tried to look Brooke up on social media but couldn't seem to remember her last name, and "Brooke Florida" displayed way too many search results. In 2021, Brooke was chatting with one of her closest friends about teenage crushes and where they are now. It was during this conversation that Brooke mentioned Logan, whom she'd always adored but never got the chance to meet. She re-downloaded Instagram and decided to try her luck at typing in his old username. He still had the same one from when they were kids. Requests sent and accepted, they began talking again. That night, they FaceTimed for six hours, talking about everything they missed over the last few years with no contact. Brooke was going to Massachusetts to check out grad schools, and Logan knew he was the perfect guy to show her around. He picked her up from the airport, took her everywhere she wanted to go, and they went on their first date at Yellow Door Taqueria, where Logan tried his very first taco (how embarrassing for him). After all these years being 1,328 miles apart, that one day was all it took for them to know they were always meant for each other. Every text, every laugh, every shared memory felt like the universe had conspired to bring them together. Two souls don't find each other by simple accident.
