Nothing about Logan and Allyson’s relationship could be defined as “typical.” Ironically, they knew of each other more than 10 years ago when they both attended Lancaster Baptist School. However, it wasn’t until October of 2023 that they got reacquainted, and their love story began. Following high school, Logan pursued a career in welding. While his business had been successful, he desired to do something with his life that would be fulfilling and truly last for eternity. His youth group attended West Coast Up Close, and Logan was given the opportunity to go as a chaperone. Throughout the trip, the Lord worked on his heart, and Logan decided to give a year to Bible college. Little did he know that he would meet his future wife on this trip. At college days, he saw Allyson for the first time since elementary and immediately was interested. However, not wanting to ruin the chance of something happening in the future, he decided to patiently wait and pursue the relationship once he got to college the next year. Since Allyson knew Logan’s family, she went up and introduced herself at the event and briefly interacted with Logan…but it only took that one interaction for her to know that she wanted to find out all she could about him. But at that point, a relationship with him seemed way too good to be true. Logan had the opportunity to play basketball and interact with Allyson’s brother, Austin, and Austin was immediately sold...later resulting in the perfect excuse for Allyson to reach out. A month after college days, Alana convinced Allyson to reach out to Logan and see what would happen. Despite her initial hesitation, Allyson finally agreed to send the first text and thank Logan for being an influence in Austin’s life. To her knowledge, Logan may not have even known who she was, much less actually respond. However, halfway across the country, Logan received the text and couldn’t believe that the girl from college days was actually reaching out to him. From that point on, they began to develop a strong friendship through “letter writing.” In May of 2024, Allyson’s family was involved in a tragic car accident that took the lives of her mom and sister. Having experienced a similar tragedy when he lost his mom to cancer a couple of years prior, Logan did everything he could to encourage Allyson and be a blessing from afar. They spent hours on the phone each week talking through the challenges of immense pain, but also finding so much joy in the little things and realizing how much they enjoyed talking to each other. While they never mentioned it to each other, both had determined that even if the Lord had only brought them together for that hardship, it still would have been worth every moment of getting to know each other. As the school year approached, both eagerly — and nervously — anticipated being together in person. But from the moment Logan arrived on campus, they immediately hit it off and were practically inseparable. Through just a few days together, they very quickly learned how they felt about each other. Those long phone calls continued, but also turned into intentional conversations and moments of just enjoying getting to spend time together in person. Logan officially asked Allyson to be his girlfriend exactly one year after that first text message was sent. Both knew that the Lord was in every step of their relationship, and they felt complete peace and confidence as they moved forward. In May of 2025, Allyson graduated, and Logan finished his one year at West Coast. Just two months later, on June 27, 2025, Logan flew out to California to pull off a beautiful surprise proposal and ask Allyson to marry him. Without hesitation, she said YES! What started as a hesitant first text became a beautiful love story that only God could have written. Logan and Allyson are beyond excited to start this next stage of their life, and they are looking forward to celebrating with you on December 5, 2025.
