Logan and Alan met in high school through a mutual friend. While they were only acquaintances at the time, their paths crossed many times throughout life until their love story began on a softball field. While playing church softball for different teams during the summer of 2021, Logan and Alan reconnected. Logan said "hi" to Alan before the game and Alan responded, "hey, where's your mans?" Logan laughed, "I don't have a mans." During the game, Alan thought about asking Logan out but he didn't know how. Alan played short stop and during her second at bat, Logan hit a ground ball to Alan. Alan "claims" he decided to "overthrow" the ball to first base, allowing Logan to advance to second base. Once on second base, Alan nonchilantly explained he overthrew on purpose so he could get Logan on second base and ask her out. His pick up line was, "you wanna go to R&R tonight?" Logan laughed, thinking it was a poor excuse for an overthrow mistake, and said "we'll see." At the end of the game, Logan ended up calling Alan and decided to meet him at R&R. They had a drink, caught up on life, and ended the night both feeling a little better than they had when they walked on the field that evening. Alan insisted on paying for Logan's drink but she declined, paying for herself (Logan hates when other people pay for her). Before getting in the car, Alan hugged Logan while Logan's door was open. Logan turned around to leave and found a $10 bill sitting on her seat that Alan had throw behind her back. A small sign that Alan had listened to her during their conversation and wanted her to feel taken care of. On the ride home, Alan messaged Logan, "let me know when you get home safely." Logan felt like this rekindle of a friendship had literally come out of left field (or short stop). Logan and Alan's relationship was not linear as they did not begin officially dating until September 9, 2021. However, they have been inseparable ever since. They love each other for who they are today, cherish the growth they’ve experienced since their days as high school friends, and look forward to loving the people they will become as they build a life together.
