Picture it: NYC (January 2020)... Logan just graduated and moved to the Big Apple. As he was adjusting to the hustle and bustle of NYC, he went out for drinks with friends. Dana, a mutual friend of the two, asked Logan: "Are you interested in being setup?" To which he thought: "Hmm, I don't know if I want to date right now." However, he heard Dana talk about Matty, saw their profile, and something made him say: "Do it!" All the while, Matty, far off in the suburbs on Long island, had just sworn off dating for the foreseeable future. DING, a text from Dana pops up on their phone: "Would you be interested in being setup with a friend of mine?" Matty wasn't sure, they just had their heart broken by a showmance (and we've all been there)! But Dana was persistent and told Matty not to pass this up! DING... "Hey Logan. It's Matty, Dana's friend! How are you!?"- Logan receives a text (January 24, 2020). The conversation began flowing and the two started getting to know each other: learning about interests, hometowns, dreams/aspirations, and what it means to be an Italian (Logan quickly learned that store-bought sauce is a cardinal SIN). Their first date was on January 27th, 2020 at The Glass House Tavern in NYC (and yes, Logan did spill his drink all over the table). Afterwards, they shared the following texts: Matty- "Did I get a callback? Or At least called back to dance?" Logan- "Actually you can skip the dance call, I'm just gonna give you sides." Matty- "Great! Love that! Cold read? Or can I have a second to look them over? Logan- "Sure take your time, I want to see what your instincts are." Flash forward to their second date... Upon the rooftop of Logan's sublet, overlooking the night lights of Manhattan, they shared their first kiss (so much for swearing off dating)! Over the next month, cute nicknames followed (Queens & Michigan), more date nights occurred (sharing milkshakes at Mom's), and their love continued to blossom. On March 4, they made it OFFICIAL! However, Miss Rona had a different plan. With Covid and uncertainty of the industry, Logan moved back to Michigan. On their last night together, before they were separated by 823 miles, they both said the words "I Love You" through tears. Though the long distance was difficult, they had daily facetimes scheduled (every night at 10pm). They would leave the computer on so they could sleep next to one another in some form. They also sent a journal back and forth every week, updating one another on their daily lives apart. It wasn't until 2 months later that they were able to see each other again! These 823 miles apart, also contributed to "A Thousand Miles" becoming one of the songs thsat describes their love. On the nights Matty couldn't sleep, Logan would sing "All My Loving" (Beatles) to them, which is another song near and dear to them! For the next year (May 2020-June 2021), they traveled to each other as much as they could. In that year, they bonded with each others families, adopted Petey, and learned what it was like to deeply, whole-heartedly miss your person! This year was filled with family adventures, facetime cooking sessions, lots of travel, couples trips, and further growth of their love. July 2021- THEY MOVE IN TOGETHER!!! The feeling of finally sharing a space was so surreal, and they felt like their life together had begun. Since then, they've moved twice (Michigan and Dallas)!!! As most relationships do, they encountered trials along the way: contracts apart, injuries, dog tooth extractions, and daily trials of life. But, they have also: Traveled the world, lived on a cruise ship, and surrounded themselves with people that are as invested in their love as they are! From Matty and Logan: We would not be where we are today without our community of friends and family. We are so grateful to be surrounded by endless love and support. Our love is so special, and we can't wait to take this step with all of our loved ones celebrating with us!
