We met on the dating app 'Hinge' - Colin messaged Lauren first! After Colin asked for Lauren's phone number and they texted a bit, Lauren mentioned wanting to go on a hike. So, Colin took that as an opportunity to ask her on a hiking date that coming weekend. We hiked the Billy Goat trail at the C&O Canal on the Maryland side of Great Falls National Park (that's where we took our engagement photos!). Neither of us expected to run into a 40 foot cliff on the hike. We almost turned around, but Colin convinced Lauren that if the little kid in front of them could do it, so could she. Colin wanted to extend the date and asked Lauren to lunch. We went to a pizza place in Arlington called 'Stellina'. Our conversation flowed the entire date and we bonded over our love of the outdoors, pizza, and cannolis!

Colin enlisted the help of his family and Lauren's dad to pop the question! Colin's Mom and Sister took Lauren to get her nails done and visit a nearby winery for a "girls day". As they were heading out to leave, Colin was waiting by the vineyard with a set up of flowers, decorations, and champagne. He got down on one knee and proposed! After the proposal, we went to dinner with our families and continued the celebration! We can’t wait to celebrate our big day with you!
