After both Jeremy and Kenna graduated college, Jeremy was working at a restaurant while Kenna was getting settled into her teaching job. A couple that played slow pitch with Kenna and were regulars at the restaurant that Jeremy worked at told both of them they were the perfect match. Both thought this was a strange way to be set up but eventually Jeremy reached out through instagram. A phone number exchange and a few texts later, they went on their first date to get ice cream at Baskin Robbins (the only ice cream place open while wearing winter jackets). After Kenna almost cancelled, they ate ice cream where their total was $8.88 and Kenna jokingly said "oh my gosh, it's a sign". They talked for hours before Jeremy told Kenna he had to go home to bring the microwave to his parents. Kenna thought this was a sad excuse at getting out of the date, and Jeremy thought he would never hear from Kenna again. Despite this, they were, in fact, the perfect match and were inseparable for months. Jeremy eventually asked Kenna to be his girlfriend on January 14th, 2024 after the Lions won their first playoff game in 32 years! They spent the day bar hopping with an older couple from California, a few shots later and they asked how long Jeremy and Kenna had been dating...awkward! Jeremy called Kenna that night and asked for her to bring him to Taco Bell, they ate and Jeremy said "it's so funny that they asked how long we've been dating!" Kenna agreed and Jeremy asks "well would you want to be?" and Kenna agreed yet again! After dating for less than a year, Jeremy asked Kenna to look at places to live together, to which she happily said of course! After a few months, they came across a house in a great location and was perfect for them! They moved in a month later and have been slowly upgrading things since. Eventually they added the addition of a crazy dog named Rory and the three of them have been taking walks and eating dinner together as a happy little family. On August 1st, Jeremy had booked a tee time for 6:30am and asked Kenna to go with him to a beautiful course in Ypsilanti, Eagle Crest. They woke up at 5:30am and headed down to the course, they had planned to have family over later to go to the Allen Park street fair. It was the perfect plan for Jeremy to propose! They played 9 holes then Jeremy went into the club house, where Kenna thought he was grabbing a halfway drink, and planned with the photographer and one of the courses' managers. They made their way to the 16th hole (Jeremy told Kenna there was a league coming in so they had to play ahead which she bought) where it was a beautiful hole on the water. Kenna jokingly said "it looks like we're on the set of high school musical" it was that pretty! After Kenna hit her ball into the water two times, they eventually made their way to the green where they putted and Jeremy dropped to one knee! That concludes the spark notes version of the couple's love story and they can't wait to add another chapter with their favorite people to celebrate with!
