We hope your dancing shoes can wait a little bit longer! On our original date of June 13th, 2020, we officially tied the knot in an intimate ceremony! It was truly the perfect day and we feel so blessed to have been able to keep those original plans. With that being said, the only thing that was missing was all of our family and friends to celebrate with. Due to current events and out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our family and friends, we have postponed our wedding celebration. We will be celebrating our one-year anniversary on June 5th, 2021 at the Lemont Restaurant, which gives us another date to look forward to! We will be doing a vow renewal ceremony, which will begin 5:00 PM. Please be seated prior to this start time. The room block will remain at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel, with the revised booking link under the "travel" tab. Thank you for being so understanding and supportive during this tough time. We can't wait to see, hug, and celebrate with you all! Love, Brittany and Nick Lattanzo
Some say that the best relationships start as friendships, which is so true for the story of Brittany and Nick. Since both were involved in Greek Life at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Brittany and Nick shared the same interests and friendship circle. Although they did not know each other well in college, they often hung out with the same people, attended the same parties and get-togethers, and frequently crossed paths, especially the years following graduation. As a result of spending more time together, Brittany and Nick began this friendship that nobody from the outside looking in could quite understand. While Brittany was living in Pittsburgh and Nick was living in Connellsville, they only saw each other on the weekends, with larger groups of people. It wasn’t until after a few years of getting to know each other and becoming good friends that they could act on a spark they always had, which would change the rest of their lives! In summer of 2016, Nick decided to finally make the first moves on Brittany, asking her to get dessert at the Milkshake Factory – a local milkshake and ice cream spot that everyone in Pittsburgh knows and loves! Brittany agreed, and the two of them got dessert and began acting on this connection! Though they hung out now and then, including many dates, nothing was set official until January 15, 2017, when Nick asked Brittany to be his “girlfriend” after a date night that started with dinner at Nakama, a Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar, followed by viewing the Holiday light show at Phipps Conservatory, a green oasis and botanical garden in Pittsburgh. On December 16th, 2018 Nick decided to “pop” the question back where it all "officially" started – Phipps Conservatory. Brittany answered the best and easiest question of her life, surrounded by two of their best friends, Stefanie and Dustyn, and both of their families!
If you know me well, you know how close I was to both sets of my grandparents! Because we grew up less than 2 miles down the street, my brother and I saw my Mom's parents, Betty and Dan Wehner, almost daily. Betty and Dan were the type of grandparents who were so involved: they always attended every sporting event we had and were always front row at our band/chorus concerts (looking back I wish I could apologize for making them sit through those). Betty and Dan were known around Wexford, PA - Betty always had a smile on her face in her fashionable outfit and Dan was always so friendly to everyone. They were never seen apart! Every year, I was able to share my birthday with my Grandma, the date of May 27th, and there was nobody else I would have wanted to share that celebration with! When I was about 18, I was told that my Grandma was fighting a battle with cancer, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. On January 9th, 2016, my Grandma lost her battle and Heaven gained the most beautiful angel. Throughout the following weeks, the emotions were so hard on my family and it especially affected my Grandpa, who truly did not know how to live without her. On May 9th, 2016, exactly 4 months to the day after my Grandma passed away, my Grandpa had a heart attack and passed away. After losing my two best friends so close to one another, my whole world was rocked. Around this time, Nick came into my life and I truly believe my Grandparents pushed us towards one another. Going through wedding planning is so unbelievably fun yet stressful – so many details and decisions you have to make! The first initial decision you make tends to be the “where” and “when," which was an easy decision for me. With Nick being supportive, as he always is, I wanted to include my Grandparents in a way that we were always so used to - with sharing dates. I am so honored and blessed to share the wedding and anniversary date of June 13th with my two angels, Betty and Dan, who I know would have adored Nick!
