It's LA, what's the parking like?

Answer

Available, easy to find and FREE!! "What? This is LA!", you might say. We've got you covered, literally! Covered parking is available starting at 4pm at: 606 S. Olive Street, Los Angeles CA, 90014. Let the garage know the event name (Lockerbie/Mathewson Wedding) when exiting and they will waive the parking fee!

How do I get from the parking to the venue?

Answer

Head out of the garage the way you came in and turn left onto 6th Street. Cross Olive Street at the light and head left down Olive. The Oviatt will be the second building on your right! Look for the art deco, covered courtyard. Once in the courtyard, look for the elevators on your left. The center elevator will take you to the penthouse!

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the venue, no children will be allowed. Only those involved in the wedding and those of immediate family have been approved by the venue. Sorry!

Can we drink alcohol?

Answer

Unfortunately, this is a dry wedding. The venue will also heavily fine us if alcohol is brought into the party. No hidden flasks!! A true prohibition era party, with no hidden speakeasy.

Why this venue?

Answer

The history of this building is quite unique! Owned by James Oviatt, a menswear retailer, this building was built to hold his retail store on the lower level. He fashioned himself a penthouse suite on the roof, that remains preserved and furnished as it was when he commissioned it in the 1920s! We thought it was such a unique place, that would really bring to life a vintage, old Hollywood feel to the wedding. Something we both enjoy! The lower floor contains the "Cicada Club" a vintage inspired, 1940s dance club, that Andrew has visited on a number of occasions.
