Roan Mountain
This is a beautiful, relatively short hike that really shows off the beauty of this area! The top has 360 degree views of mountains as far as the eye can see. Plus, it's where we took our engagement photos!
Yee-Haw Brewing Company/White Duck Taco Shop
This brewery-taco shop is a local favorite! With plenty of drink options and unique taco flavors, there is something everyone can enjoy. Paige's favorite tacos: BLT and Buffalo Chicken Carson's favorite tacos: Steak & Cheese and Po'Boy
Johnson City Farmer's Market
On Saturday mornings, check out local goodies at the farmers market! Located at the pavilion behind Yee Haw Brewing, you'll find local produce, fresh flowers, homemade soaps and more.
Lazy Lady Baking Co.
Our favorite coffee shop is known for it's sunny atmosphere inside an art gallery, with delicious pastries that feature seasonal flavors. Be sure to check out the art, plus the picturesque Johnson City park across the street!
The Generalist
While walking around downtown Johnson City, be sure to stop in The Generalist! A general store that features local artists, bakers, and vendors, it is full of unique and beautiful finds!
Tweetsie Trail
If you're looking to get some steps in without the elevation of a hike, the Tweetsie Trail is for you! This 16 mile trail used to be a railroad track that has been converted to a beautiful and safe walking/biking trail. Afterwards, grab a cool drink at Cranky's Pump N' Pints beer garden, located at the trailhead! *Note - the trail does not loop, so keep in mind you will have to double back to get back to your car!
Timber!
This neighborhood favorite offers local food that rotates around what is fresh in season. Food is served in small plates, which is perfect for sharing and being able to try everything. Trust the chef and enjoy all the local flavors, plus a wonderful cocktail menu! *Note - reservations are needed!
